    1. I do not understand the one thing: it must be a credit card or a debit card is enough to work with Printify or Printful as a backend of Etsy or Shopify store? Please – clarify that question for us.

    2. @@OliviaFromTrivia Both work, I often shorthand it and just say “credit card” but a debit card is also fine! PayPal also can be used too.

    3. Shopify! I’m pretty sure you mentioned a few months ago that the Shop app from Shopify is setting itself up as a direct competitor to Etsy, and I agree with you.

    4. Depends on your strategy if you’re just starting out and not looking to invest into a website and do a ton of legwork Etsy. If you want you’re own thing Shopify. Hey Sara do you still have your monthly membership program? Enjoyed it a couple years ago. Wondering if it’s been updated?

  1. You’re right that to start a POD business, there four key components are required: the product, the design for the product, a website for selling, and customers

    1. Absolutely! I’m not sure if you’re referencing my quick start guide in the description but that pretty much focuses on those 4 core keys 🌞

  2. Hello Sarah
I have a question: does Shopify support ‘prepaid cards’ in order to buy shopify plans?!

Second question: how can I use canva or figma or any other apps to create designs related to my niche?!
    Thanks a million ❤❤❤

  3. Thanks for this. I would love to see another tutorial like this for Woo Commerce which is used by even more online stores than Shopify.

    1. The truth is, I’m personally over using WooCommerce. Shopify has one of the best, if not THE best, tech team & development team in the world. I’m over trying to save money with hosting fees & would rather guarantee that my store stays online, and that all of my plugins work together, and guarantee that I have the best development team keeping my store secure from hackers & scammers, rather than try and save some hosting money and use an open-source platform! And I can’t in good conscious recommend it to others because if your store takes off, you’ll want to migrate for these exact reasons, and migrating will be such a huge hassle/nightmare. So I can’t in good conscious make tutorial videos on it, when I just don’t recommend it 🙏

  4. Hi Sara! 🙂
Long time follower, here. Is the usual cost for shopify 30 dollars per month, or is it 10 dollars per month billed every three months, making it 30 dollars?

Also, you mentioned that near the end about selling to a European market requires different legal notice pertaining to data collection than selling to a US market. Does this mean that one has to choose one or the other to sell to (EU or US), or is it possible to sell to both? How does that work with the data collection notice?

Thanks for all the information! I hope I can start in the not so distant future. (If only Germany didn’t have so many tax rules/requirements) 😆

    Alll the best, Chris

    1. Hi Chris!
      1) It is currently $39/month I believe, but when you first join they currently have a promo where for 3 months, you’ll just get charged $1 per month. After those 3 months, it’ll then switch to $39/month
      2) No you can sell to both! It’s just you’ll want to switch on that privacy setting if you plan to sell to Europe, whereas you don’t need to switch it on and have that cookie banner pop-up if you just sell to the USA, the banner warning you about collecting cookies that you see around the internet on most pages is there because of the EU legal requirements.

  5. Thanks for this video. You’ve answered every question I had after previous Shopify videos 😁 Perfect timing 💪 I’ve got one question. If I want to sell for the USA and EU, do you recommend setting new store for each continent or go global?

    1. Thank you! And absolutely just 1 store, no need to separate them into separate stores, that’ll not only confuse potential customers but also confuse algorithms too.

  6. Very thorough!!

Yesterday a YouTuber said that Shopify is changing it’s model to 3 days free plus only one month for $1. They said that the source has never been wrong which could just be someone blowing smoke to push people to start Shopify now using his affiliate links and his upcoming tutorial… which they wont need if they hear about this one 😊.

What are your thoughts on getting started with only a month to get going before paying their monthly fee?

There’s a lot to do to get people to visit a new store. Would you please put out a video showing how they can use social media etc. to bring traffic to a newly created Shopify store. $3 for 90 days makes starting a store easy but unless we can drive traffic to it to bring sales that $29/mth from the 4th month on will be money poorly spent.

    1. My traffic videos have historically not been popular view wise, but I will see if I can come up with an interesting idea! In terms of them changing the price… They could be. I haven’t yet had a meeting with my Shopify rep this year but they might very well confirm it. They have had this deal of $1 for 3 months for a long time now, I am sure it has been a loss leader for them, so they might be wanting to stop it. Starting now to take advantage of it, is definitely not the worst idea, even if you aren’t ready to send it live quite yet!

  7. I agree with Monster Digital, I’ve never had a customer complaint with them. I tried another printer and a customer said the design wore out after 3 washes 🙁

  8. I opened up my store last night but still tweaking a few things. Ive never had a pod store or a shopify as i have been selling physical products from my home through ebay and fbmp. I must say setting this up didnt take much time thanks your step by step tutorial. One thing that kept bothering me was my niche and how i was going to market my store and to whom. Today i was set on my target audience and i now know that my niche can target alot more people once i start to grow. Putting in the hard work now and one day i hope to see it grow. This is side hussle one of many to come. Thank you sara im going to binge watch your channel again taking notes.

  9. Do I need to change printify locations for sales outside Australia to those regions or does printify do the logistics automatically based on the location of the order deliveries? How does it work?

  10. Hi Sarah, am trying to set up a store after finding your videos recently and getting inspired. I’m wanting to try selling just mugs at first, as it appears much easier re standard sizes, and less colour backgrounds etc. I haven’t found a video of yours specifically reccomending which mug option to choose on Printify (as I know you focus on T-shirts). I have found 2 main choices: one costs from $4.40 a mug but the manufacturer (District Photo) has average reviews (7.5), the other (Spoke custom products) more expensive at $6.34 a mug but has much better reviews (9.2). Does the latter produce a better quality mug, therefore is worth the added cost? And both manufacturers produce a bigger mug (15Oz) at quite significantly higher cost, which I’m leaning against using, but I know people like myself can prefer bigger mugs, so can that be a good option to try too?
If you don’t have the same knowledge of mugs, maybe you can point me in the right direction where to find advice? Thanks in advance!

    1. @@WholesaleTed Thanks have watched and that makes total sense to prioritise quality. But I don’t understand the lack of Printify POD providers for mugs, being such common products. For the top 2 11oz mugs on Printify, there’s only 3 print providers, and only one has excellent reviews (SPOKE Custom Products). I think I’ll be using them to start out, but I’d also like to sell mugs in UK too being where I’m from and some of my ideas would work better here, but I only see one option of a print provider called WPaPS with only 6.5stars. That is alarming and so I don’t think I should use them, but therefore I can only sell mugs in the US? Why is there such a lack of POD mug providers? And yet there are tonnes for T-shirts!

  11. I’d love a part two showing how to drive traffic to your Shopify store. Your instructional videos are always thorough.

    1. Thank you! It’s a video that’s been requested a few times. I’ll be honest, my traffic videos have historically flopped lol and just don’t get many views, but I’ll see what I can do!

  12. Hi Sarah, thank you for doing this — and for the links! Question: If we are working with color photos instead of graphic art, what do we select when we come to the Printify setting for print colors?

    1. Thank you, I’m not quite sure what you mean, I’m sorry! You do not select print colors, Printify will print your designs in the color that you upload them, you don’t need to select the colors for the ink.

  13. Thanks for all your great videos. Do you have any videos on strategies for setting up a shopify/etsy store in Australia/nz to maximise audience (I.e. Getting international sales and not being limited to local market etc)?

  14. I really love what you do . I have only one question I did not understand. So do I need to change my order settings in Etsy ? How do I know in witch time Printfy orders ? For example then people order from Germany , how much does this coast ? Can you please make a video about the order settings. So I live not in the USA , but want to sell my products international .
