While you may pay less on ACA, the two are vastly different. ACA is frankly a crap show when it comes to what it covers and approvals. It takes months to get things approved. It is effectively rationed Healthcare. Its only redemption is they can’t exclude preexisting conditions. The amount you save on premiums that you would have spent on COBRA you will probably burn in out of pocket expenses because to get the really affordable plans you need to get a high deductible plan. Don’t go into it blind. Hire a insurance broker that can navigate it. But also understand it is going to be a hair pulling period until you get to Medicare. Looking poor on paper is also a necessity to get the premium credits. Make sure your income is structured accordingly.
