One question always comes to mind for me when they ssy the average 401k savings rate. Is that the entire contribution including match? For instance if you get a 4% match and you put in 4% are they counting 4% or 8%?
Includes the match. A contribution is a contribution regardless.
this is a question I’ve always had…… when Fidelity and other companies come out with the average and median balances that only includes what they are the custodian of correct? so the actual balance is both median and average could potentially be higher depending on if these people never rolled over their accounts and they had a different custodian?
Great video! Thanks Eric
Saving 66;percent at 56 years old, helps with no mortgage and no debt.
I’m saving about the max into my 401k, HSA, and Roth IRA which I’ve been doing since 2016, the year I paid off my house. Prior to that I saved 10%, for basically 30 years of saving, since 1993. I plan to keep working for 12 more years.
Good job!
The federal injection of money started in 2019, not 2020.
Actually I think everyone has figured out that 401k is a scam
