Lifes’ purpose changes when you have kids, and in an extremly good way. When you travel you should first think of why yu want to travel. If its just to party and site see, then yeah do that messy stuff with alone. But if you are traveling to expose and normalize your kids and family to things id argue the level of satisfaction is higher than just partying and having fun alone.
In some cases the example you mentioned with your family, there are other underlying issues in the marriage that led to divorce. Same with my parents.
