Yes it is annoying, hopefully they’ll change that soon. You can get around that though. Remove the background, save it as a separate image. Upload that image into Canva. Now edit that image with the magic eraser tool. Done!

It would insist on resetting the image to original form allowing background remover. So I would have to use magic eraser, download image, and then reupload to then use background remover.
