In reply to Wilma. Agreed - this remark was a bit puzzling. Many of us have TDFs in our tax-deferred plans and also have total market and bond funds available. A bit perplexed as to why TDFs are sub-optimal to manual rebalancing or perhaps this was more of a plug for active management services?

Please explain the target date funds. My employer’s contribution goes there and they change the fund to another fund at unfavorable times.

I have other options for my contributions.
