Not sure any easier to open or not. Beware and just like with 401k, not all HSA programs are built the same. For example, my employer plan is with Health Equity and charges high fees in order to invest. So I opened a free to invest Fidelity HSA and do partial transfers from Health Equity to Fidelity for the amount I want to invest.
